Course description
Introductory training for PC members by WUR Council chair Blair van Pelt.
This is the WUR-specific training for PC members! This introductory training is designed to help new members quickly find their footing and gain a clear understanding of their role and responsibilities within the WUR context.
It’s however, also highly valuable for current members, as it covers important and often new information about the educational governance at our university. Furthermore, the training will help you stay sharp. Given the significant changes ahead, this is more relevant than ever.
The training is led by Blair van Pelt, an experienced lecturer and chair of the WUR Council.
Topics covered:
- Participation in decision-making (medezeggenschap) in general
- Rights, roles, and responsibilities within a Programme Committee (PC)
- Structure and processes of a PC – specific to WUR
- The PCs relationship with chair groups, Programme Director (PD), and Board of Education (BoE)
- Ideal performance
- Available support for PCs
This training is offered alongside the TAQT training on laws and regulations. We highly recommend attending both, as they complement each other and together provide a well-rounded foundation for your work in the PC.
