Facilitator: Jesse van de Hulsbeek

Discover WUR's podcast production facilities! In this hands-on workshop, you'll first discover how (not) to use podcasts in your education. Then, you'll find out how to format your podcasts to sound professional and purposeful. And after a little preparation, you'll put on your headphones, hear that sweet WUR intro jingle and channel your radio voice to record a mini-podcast with your colleagues.

Boundary Crossing in Inter- and Transdisciplinary Education
Date: Monday, 13 January 2025| 12:00 - 13:30

Facilitator: Sarah de Vries and Ellen Torfs

Do you want to find out how you can embed boundary crossing in inter- and transdisciplinary education? In this workshop, you will experience how this can be done. You will also collaboratively generate pointers on how to transfer insights to your own working practice.

Adaptive expertise in education: When is it needed?
Date: Tuesday, 21 January 2025| 12:00 - 13:30

Facilitator:Lisette van Bruggen

Do you ever come across teaching situations that take you by surprise and make you think... How will I deal with this? These are most likely situations that call on your adaptability as a teacher. After a short introduction on adaptive expertise you will individually arrange 23 cards with ‘teaching situations’ (using the Q-sorting method). You discuss the result of this sorting with 2-3 colleagues. What makes a certain situation 'very challenging'? Has anyone experienced that before? What happened, how did you deal with it and what was the result? This turns this workshop into an intervision moment between colleagues! Note: this workshop is part of a PhD research project.

Adapting digital materials & activities to support students with disabilities
Date: Tuesday, 4 February |12:00 - 13:30

Facilitator: Mina Atia

In this workshop, you will explore the barriers faced by students with disabilities and learn ways to adapt your learning materials and activities to be more accessible. You will learn about the accessibility guidelines, then you will use available tools to apply these guidelines.

Period 4

Skills workshop: Diversity & Inclusivity

Date: Monday 17 February |12:00 - 13:30

Facilitator: Eva Meijer and Marieke van Schaik

Are you interested in learning more about teaching the skill Diversity & Inclusion (D&I) in your classroom? Then join this interactive workshop. D&I is part of the BSc skills set as developed by the skills trajectories team. It can be complicated to figure out which methods you can use to let students talk about D&I and develop awareness. And how do you do this in a save & brave, inclusive way?

During the workshop, we will work with a method called Creative Destruction from the Liberating Structures toolbox. Besides digging deeper in the D&I-content, you will experience the method to give you one example of how you can talk about D&I in class in a safe and brave manner. Afterwards, there is some time to reflect on the method and on D&I in your classroom.
