(Group) Assignments: design, supervision, feedback & assessment

Course schedule

This course is not scheduled yet.

Course description

(Group) assignments offer great opportunities for deep learning in realistic contexts. The challenge is to design assignments which stimulate the intended learning. In this blended course you develop or reconsider the design of your (group) assignment. Furthermore, you will explore different types of supervision and make an informed decision on the guidance you will provide your students.

Other subjects which are useful to consider when working with an (group)assignment in your course are:

- Is a (group)assignment appropriate for the learning outcomes in your course?
- How will the students be guided?
- How will students receive feedback and from whom?
- If students need to work in groups, there are additional decisions to make (for example: how do you form groups? And how to assign grades)

On 28th November we will have a lunch meeting as the start of this training. In this meeting you will meet other participants and you will get an overview of the training and an explanation about the online activities you need to prepare before the class meeting on December 19th.
